I had a quick question.

For the past couple of months I've had quite a few spam bots popping up on my forum on a daily basis posting spam posts with links to porn and others sites, sometimes even with pictures. >.>

I was wondering if there's anything that phpbbsecurity would be able to do, or anything I could edit in it's settings to make it more effective in combating this?

One thing you can do is enable visual conformation. This will require a letter/number combonation be entered when registering. The current version doesn't have anything extra besides the SQ & answer as far as registering is concerned to stop it.

I might try & think of some extra ways for when i get time to update it.

another thing to do is what I do on my board

make a minimum of how many posts someone needs to start a topic

This works WONDERFULLY and those assholes get deleted before they start when the mods see their profile with the SPAM sites listed in it
