Adding Hypertext link on forum page back to home page of website and want to know what is the file name and where/how do I place it. I assume its a simple hypertext coding

You would need to add it into the tpl file for whatever page it is.

index.php => index_body.tpl
viewtopic.php => view_topic_body.tpl

etc.. & yes, a simple text link

will work.
