I've had phpBB Security on my site ever since November. Since then, I only had maybe 80 Exploit Attempts. Well, up until 5 days ago that is. Over the last 5 days, that number has grown to over 20,000. All of them are "Perl Execution Attempt" of "/forum/viewtopic.php?" with either p= or t= and a bunch of other stuff after that.

I am running phpBB 2.0.19 and phpBB Security 1.0.3. I plan on upgrading to phpBB 2.0.20 in a couple of days, but I don't think that will solve this matter.

phpBB Security is configured to Auto Ban in Configuration. In addition, in the Special section, I have Ban selected for everything. Attempts are all at 1, so I am assuming that phpBB Security is working like it should.

Is there anything that I can or should do, or do I just ride this out?

Thanks.

Just ride it out. I had 297 "Perl Execution Attempts" in less then a few hours. After awhile they just stopped as phpBB Security banned all the attacking IPs.
