Make them a moderator of that usergroup.

I'm not sure if that would work. I'm talking about using this to control deleting posts for all non-mod users.

You should be able to set the group permissions for that group. Set delete to reg for the group. If its a private group, set it to private.

Give that a go.

Yes, I looked into that. The only thing that it will let me set is the "Moderator status".

Change simple mode to advanced mode.

I also checked advanced. It shows the all of the options, but the only thing it lets me set is the "Moderator status".

In the Forum Admin section, goto Permissions. For the forums you want to allow them to delete posts from, put the Delete part on Private, you can find it in Advanced Mode.

Then goto Group Admin, Select the group, then goto the bottom & click Advanced Mode, then there will be On/Off for the Delete part.

Ah, I see. It's showing up now. But will this allow users to delete all posts in the allowed forum or just their own?

You'll have to find that one out by trial & error, as i have never let anyone delete posts except admins.
