It appears you are using a browser that is not based on Internet Explorer, this means you are not viewing the web as good as you should be. Other browsers might try to immitate Internet Explorer, but none can parse the web as it should like Internet Explorer can. So view the web as it was meant to be with Avant Browser!

| Post subject: Groups Permissions switch? |
|
|
hi i have a request / question is there a way that a switch can be made to separate groups or group infomation so if i want to have one page display the infomation depending on what group a user is in i would use a switch like.
<!-- BEGIN switch_group1_view -->
group text here
<!-- END switch_group1_view -->
<!-- BEGIN switch_group2_view -->
group text here
<!-- END switch_group2_view -->
<!-- BEGIN switch_group3_view -->
group text here
<!-- END switch_group3_view -->
is this possible? is there a better way to make something like this possible on a phpbb page? |

| This would be fairly simple. Do you want all the groups to see the same content or do you want them to see something different? The only would be is if you had alot of groups to add checks for because it would add alot of sql queries that could lag your pages. |

| Well, it depends on how many groups you have. If you have only about 5 or so groups then it probably wont be too bad, but if you have say 20 or more groups that you want to add checks for then you could run into some performance problems. |
