downdb_to_dm

aUsTiN's downdb to Downloads Manager

Right aUsTiN made this to convert the downdb to Downloads Manager here on tweaks, it worked here, it SHOULD work fine, but no guarantees. Make sure to bak up the old tables because the convertor does drop them. Make sure that you have the DM Downloads installed BEFORE running the convertor.

K bugs sicne i like being first Very Happy

Errors show on dm_main.php when there are no downloads. there's nothing wrong per se because after you add a download it disappears.

The upload times out on larger files. I've got mine set 1 GB max and it doesnt error, just refreshes the page with blank boxes & no text on the button

Tested file size was 10MB's

no download. Can make categories and they show perfectly. But if there are no downloads it shows. I didn't copy the error, if you'd like i can throw it on my test board and copy the info.

I noticed there is a big long number added to the filename when you download it. Was that intended?

The convertor worked mostly, but all the categories and file links were messed up. Not a big deal for one of my sites but the other is another story, I have well over 200+ files. Sad

Ok, tried it on a test board and it went successfully without editing it. I am not sure what caused it not to work right yesterday. Possibly because I had some modifications to it.

The only big problem I see is having to manually redo all the links. Was there a reason behind that?

I kind of fibbed yesterday when I said I only had around 200 downloads. Its actually close to 600. Embarassed

The links dont need edited, they are edited for you, all you have to do is move the downloads to the right directory. And the reason for it, is because this script allows for upload instead of manual typing in the links, alot easier on me personally in the end.

I understand why the mod is like it is as far as not having to enter in links but in my case its a little more complicated.

For the site that has all the downloads for me, I have all the files located in a directory with several different subdirectories so they are a little organized.

I havent really looked at the code for the convertor yet but im thinking it shouldnt be all that hard to just update the field with the links that are already active.

Yes, it works fine on that site. It is located on a different server than the other site is on. I was guessing it had something to do with there being so many files. I might try it on another website thats on the same server that has less files to see if I get the same result.

The file was a normal zip file

Edit:
ah I had a . in the version number, removed the number from the file name and it worked.
