Hello. Newbie here. I am running a new, plain 3.0 version - no hacks, mods, etc.

In 2.xx version there was an "Avatars Secret Gallery" mod (which worked great BTW), but now with 3.0 there is no "includes/usercp_avatar.php" so (I am assuming) this mod can't be used.

Does anyone know an alternative to this, or something I can do to have only Moderators or Admins be able to access a certain folder in the Avatar Gallery?

For instance, in "images/avatar/gallery" area, I have 3 folders:

images/avatar/gallery/faces
images/avatar/gallery/cars
images/avatar/gallery/mods

I would allow access to everyone for the "faces" and "cars" folder, but only Admins or Mods could access the "mods" folder.

Example: When regular Members/Users want to edit their Avatar in User Control Panel, they click on the "Display Gallery", and the "Local Gallery" window pops open. Currently, under the "Category" drop-down list, all three folders show: faces, cars, and mods. I DO NOT want to allow regular members/users to see the "Mods" folder in the Local Gallery, but DO want to allow Admin/Mods to see it.

Anyone have any suggestions as to how I can go about setting this up? I am new to PHPBB, and don't know anything about coding... so am hoping for some guidance if possible?

Use the phpBB 3.0 permissions systems to control who can use an avatar. Visit the phpbb.com web site for more information.

Thank you for the reply. I have gone to phpbb.com website (even make a similar post to this one), but to no avail. Also, I wasn't needing to remove the ability for folks to use an avator per se, just the ability for certain users to use/access certain avatars,

Might you be able to give me some pointers please as to how to go about using the persmissions sytem that you mentioned? I would really appreciate your help, thanks! Very Happy
